The LMF Recap #1

If you know me, you’ll know that I am constantly stuck in the “ideas!!!!” part of life. All the ideas, way less actual plans and minimal execution of the plans based on the ideas.

So I would like to welcome you to my newest idea, an attempt at keeping this blog 1. updated and 2. interesting to read.

The Little Martian Family Recap. Where you can see what we’ve been up to, things we’ve discovered or bought, and cute pictures of my kids. Once a week. You’re welcome for that one!

HERE. WE. GO.

City Play for Kids birthday party in Vancouver, WA

{Dresses from Macaron + Me, one of our most favorite brands for the girls!}

This past week, we celebrated the girls’ birthdays at City Play for Kids. When I’d first found out my kids would have birthdays so close together, I SWORE that I would NEVER do a combined party. LOL… well after a few years of Stressful September and inviting the same exact people to parties 2 weeks apart, we said let’s just go to City Play.

It. was. fantastic. The team at City Play was AMAZING. We only had 20 minutes to set up, but the team handled it ALL. That was worth the price itself. They’d asked me if I had any theme and the theme was “we’re having a birthday party at City Play.” 😂 I’m over the themes and Pinterest worthy things. If my kids are happy, I’m happy.

Blue Gem Baking cookies

The ONE thing I really wanted was to get custom cookies from Blue Gem Baking. We first fell in love with her cookies at the Camas Farmer’s Market, when the girls would pick one out every single week. Since our theme was… no real theme… I had only one request. A Slumberkins Lynx cookie for Georgia. and she DELIVERED.

We got little two bite cupcakes for the kids so they could just scarf them down and get back to playing, and the girls got full size ones for their candles.

Sariah Wilson A Tribue of Fire ARC

I received my first ever ARC book in the mail, by an author (Sariah Wilson!) who I fell in love with at the beginning of my 2024 reading revival. I nearly cried when I opened the mailbox and discovered the package.

Chomps Smoky BBQ Seasoned Beef Stick

Chomps sent us a box of their limited edition flavor, Smoky BBQ Seasoned Beef Stick and WOWWWWW, this is my absolute favorite flavor of theirs. I may start a petition to get it to be a regular flavor, not just limited. Chomps is a MUST HAVE in our family – we get a big box of Chomplings for the girls (red for Georgia and blue (not spicy at all) for Madeleine). The subscription is great because you earn rewards and can get them delivered right to your mailbox.

This limited edition is available on the Chomps website!

One of the girls’ birthday presents came in the mail, and not only did they get a toy… it came with two boxes that they were able to squeeze themselves into with cat-like dexterity. It kept them entertained long enough for me to tackle a massive task I have been putting off for LITERALLY the entirety of Georgia’s 3 years of life: I cleaned out the freezer.

I told the girls that they get to eat a frozen tube of something every single day for the rest of the year, because what is this situation in the upper right hand corner?!

Madeleine’s been taking taekwondo, and she is doing great. It’s not something I would have thought of signing her up for, but there was a really cheap trial class offer and she clicked with it immediately. Today, Georgie fell asleep in the 10 minute drive to class, and I was able to successfully transfer her to my hope & plum Lark (truly the best baby carrier I have EVER had – that link gets you 10% off!) where she slept THE WHOLE TIME. When I transferred her back to the car seat she woke up and angrily asked me why I took her out.

OK, so honestly I wanted to make this a Friday thing but it’s also only Wednesday and here I am just DYING to hit publish on it. So maybe it’ll just be… whenever.
